The World Won't Wait

The World Won't Wait!

Save The Burning World - A Plead From A Dying Girl.

Save The Burning World - A Plead From A Dying Girl.

Slow Dance

This is a poem written by a teenager with cancer.
She wants to see how many
people get her poem.

It is quite a poem, please pass it on.
This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a
New York Hospital.
It was sent by a medical doctor Make sure to read what is in the closing statement AFTER THE POEM.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed,
with the next hundred chores running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last..

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

FORWARDED E-MAILS ARE TRACKED TO OBTAIN THE TOTAL COUNT.

Dear All:
PLEASE pass this mail on to everyone you know -
even to those you don't know!
It is the request of a special girl, who will soon leave this world
due to cancer.

This young girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to
live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school,
or get married and have a family of her own.

By you sending this to as many people as possible, you can give her and her family a
little hope, because with every name
that this is sent to, the American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name
to her treatment and recovery
plan.
One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know that we can at least send it to 5 or 6.

It's not even your money, just your time! Please read n forward ... !!

Conventional Romance

Conventional Romance
We learn to walk by holding our parents' hands,
It's a comfort felt by people of every land.
But it was your hand that assured the hold for lifetime!!
I wanted to feel it too, just with you,
Yet I could not do so.
I was too hesitant,
As I feared losing you!
But to my sweetest delight,
You knew me better; from head to toe,
Better than I could say or show.
It was the first time you held my hand,
I could not wait any longer,
To hold it back, tight,
And experience eternal delight.
An escape from the worldly clutter for a while,
Something that constantly made me smile,
Again and again...every single time!
As your fingertips ran gently through my palm,
My soul rested in calm,
Blood gushed through each of my vein,
I could feel you all over my brain,
Effortlessly easing all my pains...
I was so red, numb and speechless,
All I could do was smile with happiness.
I could see nothing around.
Music played in my heart,
One, that knew no bound!!
Feeling your hands pressed against mine
Was a pleasure, nowhere else to be found,
It made me shine bright
With joy in my heart, reaching great heights.
It was time to part, but I longed to stay.
Stay as long as the day,
As long as you would,
As long as I could,
As long as the world would be!!

Holding Hands

Holding Hands

We learn to walk by holding our parents' hands,
We hold their hands to feel the comforts,
No matter you live in which lands,
Holding hands needs no efforts.
But with you - my love,
I was hesitant to do so,
Scared to have blown you off!
But you held my hand,
And held it tight!
I was all red and you were in delight.
I never felt the rush of blood running ever so fast,
Not even when I ran for hours on the grounds.
The feeling that you gave will forever last,
I will never leave you and always be in your bound.

Behind The Beard

Behind The Beard

Behind the beard,
There's a man,
A man who knows how to woo his woman.
Behind the beard,
There's a father,
A father who loves his daughter.
Behind the beard,
There's a brother,
A brother who protects his sister.
Behind the beard,
There's a friend,
A friend who spreads his arms to help which has no end,
Behind the beard,
There's a child,
A child lost in the wild.
Behind the beard,
There's a soul,
A soul that is very calm and cold.

The First Meet

The First Meet

We met; we had a normal chat,
Yet I sat there blushing,
While she just kept smiling.
We thought it would be an awkward talk,
But we comfortably roam around and walked.
There was no room for silence to enter,
As we had lots to share from our clutter,
I cracked many jokes and puns,
And she laughed at them with all the fun.
She instantly made witty comebacks,
Dumping them into a bag of trash!
Her wittiness impressed me,
Because deep down I knew she did it just for me.
We had a good time, may be the best of it,
Hence, we stood there choking ourselves to say Good Bye!

The Hug

The Hug

What made you hug me?
This was the question I wanted to ask,
But the answer could break my heart,
Yes! My sisters have hugged me,
You weren’t the first girl,
But you indeed are the one whom I love.
The hug you gave was different than I ever got or I will,
We were drenched due to rains,
And still, your cold arms gave the highest possible warmth,
The touch of your hands to my back and mine to yours,
Made a distinct current flow through my spinal cord!
It was electrifying, it was magnificent.
I never thought a hug from a girl could make me feel so significant.

THE GIRL

The Girl

There was a girl and then there was me,
I did not know her, neither did she!
We were acquaintances behind the screens,
Yet we started sharing lot of our things.
We shared our past,
We shared our lifestyle.
We knew each other’s interests,
And the stories of exile!
We hadn’t met yet, we did not bump into one another,
It is not the cliché that you would ever wonder.
We were writing our own stories,
When suddenly we realized that we wrote about each other!!
We did not know yet as to what it was?
But we definitely knew we had given birth to a new relationship.

MY BROTHER

My Brother

You have always been my best friend,
You have proved to be the ideal buddy,
I grew up under your light,
And you always stood by me even in the darkest night.

I have been stubborn, I have been unfriendly,
But you never lost your cool and found the solution calmly.
I have always been the immature guy,
But you always understood all my lies.
Be it dusk or dawn you were always there,
Never hesitant to hear my nightmares.

You are my counselor,
You are the who consoles,
You always guided me to overcome all my fears.
It has been a while since you haven’t been by my side,
But I know you are still showering your light,
So, that I can continue to take my strides.

To my brother who is my bestie.
To the brother who cares about me selflessly.

What Makes A Dad?

What Makes A Dad?

God took the strength of the mountain,
Majesty of a tree,
Warmth of the sun,
The calmness of the sea.
He took the generous soul of nature,
Comforting arm of the night,
Wisdom of the ages,
And the power of the eagle's flight.
He endorsed joy of the morning spring,
Faith of the mustard seed,
Patience of the eternity,
And the depth of a family need.
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew his masterpiece was ready,
And so, he named it Dad.

The Remembrance

The Remembrance.

The days have come and passed,
Time has blown way too fast,
I was mesmerized,
And before I could wake up,
I found myself reliving my past.
It seemed I had just entered it,
But it had been long since I was living it.
I remembered each folly I made,
 The mistakes that were corrected,
I inculcated the lessons I learned,
I remembered the hand that had been burned.
I was missing all the teachers caring,
I missed the friends who were tricksters.
That was the most carefree time,
That came back with a wonderful chime.
I wished to live that life again,
But that would just be so lame.
Hence, I made a new wish,
And asked for more such memories that I could cherish.

The Day I Woke Up !

This poem was written by me when I was in ninth grade. It might not be that impressive but me being in ninth grade writing this meant a lot to me and my parents. It was appreciated by my class teacher who even was my English teacher back then. I would like to acknowledge my mentor Mrs. Nandita Ganguly who also appreciated my work and kept me motivated to keep on writing stuff that interested me.

THE DAY I WOKE UP

The days were cool,
And nights were easy,
I just thought of some tools,
And my life became busy.
With a sigh of laziness,
I found the world very hard,
Because I was crazy, for the card.
This made all the difference,
I challenged my appearance,
Until the day had come,
When I woke up.
To jump to reach newer heights,
I had already taken the eagle’s flight.
Things looked colorful,
And surroundings turned bright.
I got my destiny, I reserved all my rights.
My life became honorable,
When a book got my label.

The Farewell Song !

This was the song sung by my batch for our seniors who were mostly likely to leave our school and join some other college for their higher education.

I am not the lyricist of the song written below, and I am unaware of the author's name.

Farewell:

The days go so fast, I know they won't last,
I am gonna miss this school so much,
The magic of school life, the joy, and the needful strife,
And now we are walking away.
These are those moments yeah...
Which keeps me, surviving up to death.
These are those moments yeah...

The Annual Day furry, Parents Day in a hurry,
The fun that we had on Sports Day,
I realize the school was the best thing forever,
And how we are walking away.
These are those moments yeah...
Which makes me feel, live them again.
These are those moments yeah...

But this is just a part of our lives,
We got to lose something sometime,
But now we shall work hard,
And make our school glow with pride.
